- Pure natural hawthorn honey
- From the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset
- A rare heritage honey, raw and unprocessed
This rare natural honey is from bees that have foraged almost exclusively on hawthorn blossom.
In spring, the hedgerows and wild spaces in the Purbeck Hills are dotted with the white blossom of hawthorn trees and bushes. This is what the bees have used to make this traditional honey.
Harvested in late spring to early summer, hawthorn honey is a type of heritage English honey that's hard to find these days. So this Isle of Purbeck Hawthorn Honey really is special.
Taste, texture and appearance
Although it's just about a runny honey at the moment, it will set soon. So this hawthorn honey is quite thick – great for adding to drinks or spreading on your bread or toast.
This honey is a subtle amber colour and, most importantly, the taste is exceptional – deep, sweet and strong. It's all that you'd expect from a traditional country honey, and much more.
Each jar contains 227g (1/2 lb) of hawthorn honey.
Why do we call it natural raw honey?
Our honey has nothing added and nothing taken away. There's no added sugar or water, just 100% pure honey.
The goodness is preserved because it's not been pasteurised, and it's not microfiltered either, so pollen grains are present which may make it more beneficial for you.
